Dear Maine Indian Education Community,

As we embark on a new academic year, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to work alongside you in educating and serving the children of Maine Indian Education. Welcome back to what promises to be an exciting and productive year!

Our journey continues as we navigate through significant challenges, both as proud Wabanaki communities and as part of the larger state and national context. While we each bring unique perspectives, we are united in our unwavering commitment to serving Maine Indian Education children and families.

Maine Indian Education is deeply invested in every student who walks through our doors. Our school committee members, parents, guardians, and community partners are all vital contributors to our mission. Together, we are building an efficient, strategically focused organization aimed at improving student achievement and operations.

Our dedicated staff is the backbone of our success. By developing systems where all team members contribute to articulated and focused goals, we will achieve improved outcomes for our students and communities. When we combine our effective systems with our committed team, there is no limit to what we can accomplish.

This year, we continue to focus on our key system-wide goals as Wabanaki Studies, Blended Learning, and Multi-Tiered Student Support System (MTSS).

Our vision is to create "Communities Committed to Learning through Rigor, Relevancy, and Relationship." This approach galvanizes all Maine Indian Education staff around improved student achievement, viewing every facet of our schools as interrelated and functioning in unity for a singular purpose.

To better connect with our school communities, I am implementing a new initiative this year. I will be scheduling rotating office days at each of our schools. This will allow me to spend entire days at individual schools, meeting with staff and students, and immersing myself in the unique culture of each institution. My goal is not to micromanage, but to build stronger relationships, gain deeper insights into each school's needs and strengths, and ensure that my leadership is informed by direct experiences with our diverse school communities.

As we move forward, let us embrace our shared vision, personal commitment to excellence, and dedication to lifelong learning. Together, we will ensure that every child in our care will realize their full potential.

I look forward to working with all of you in what promises to be an outstanding year for Maine Indian Education.

Most sincerely,

Dr. Reza Namin
