ITS

Dear Indian Township School Families,

As a follow-up to our earlier communication regarding the school closure, I must inform you of another important update. Due to the continuing spread of illnesses among our students and an increased number of sick staff members, we have decided to extend our closure. As planned, the school will not reopen tomorrow, Tuesday, January 21. Instead, we will remain closed through Wednesday, January 22, with plans to reopen on Thursday, January 23, 2025.

We will carefully reassess the situation on Thursday, January 23, to ensure it is safe for our school community to return. This decision has been made carefully considering the health and safety of our students and staff.

CONTINUITY OF LEARNING During this extended closure period:

  • Students should continue working on their previously distributed learning packets

  • Our remote learning arrangements will remain in place

  • Families who need access to learning materials can contact the main office for assistance

This extended closure will:

  • Allow additional time for sick students and staff to fully recover.

  • Help break the transmission cycle of illness in our school community.

  • Enable the completion of thorough sanitization protocols throughout our facility.

  • Ensure we can safely resume in-person instruction

We understand this further extension may create additional challenges for our families. However, this measure is necessary to protect the health and well-being of our entire school community. We appreciate your continued patience and cooperation during this time.

Thank you for your understanding as we work to address this situation.

Sincerely,

Molly Newell

Principal
